There isn't any hullabaloo for their using the portal. There wouldn't really be either way, but Lucifer still made sure to clear his "reason for travel" beforehand just in case. He's in mixed standing with Thorne mostly at all times, and Istredd is... well, actually a mage and provides a bit more natural value to Thorne. More value to Ambrose, certainly, if he's already done one Super Secret mission for Ambrose.

The transition to Nott is smooth, and spits them out in some vaguely familiar--to Lucifer--part of Old Nott. The slightly less of the seedier parts of Nott. Which means it's still terrible.
