Istredd has said a few times that none of them really know what the Singularity is or what it's capable of doing or if it's responsible. As he told Geralt, never assume he's speaking in facts, only in theories or guesses. He still thinks it's best not to spread information about the Singularity, true or not. Even when reporting to Ambrose about the Singularity trip they were fairly neutral about it.
