Her eyes flick down to his outstretched hand, the coins in it. Then back up to his face, with a flush of fresh anger. She wouldn't be all that pissed off, truthfully, except that she's already in a mood - but, being in a mood, she can't help but take it as an insult.

"I ain't askin' for charity, Bucky." She says it like it's a dirty word: charity, like just the thought's an insult. "I'll make my way fair and square, just like anyone else."

As soon as it's out, she's aware of how bitter it sounds, and how unhelpful it is to be snapping at someone who's offering to help. And, far as she can tell, he really is just trying to help, hasn't made any kind of untoward move on her (yet, she reminds herself, it's only ever yet), doesn't deserve to take the brunt of her bad mood... but her hackles are up, and he's in the line of fire, so there it is.

She sighs, and does her best to calm her tone, to loosen the sharp line of her shoulders. "I got help, anyroad. So thankee, but ye may as well save it for those who're on their own." Then, belatedly: "And, uh. Susan. I'm Susan. If 'ee want to leave my name with whoever's hirin'."

As if he'd want to, after that display.
