I understand where you're coming from, but the hatred of magic that exists in Cadens means that they're almost assuredly never going to be strong enough to conquer the Singularity, even if we never intervene on its behalf. They're barely willing to use portals out there, let alone use magic powerful enough destroy the very source of that magic. And they can't get close enough with their weapons to try and take it out physically.
