The unfortunate consequence of Jack being a forgetful introvert means that Kyle not seeking him out basically results in hardly ever seeing the guy. Which is, much like the rest of this situation, almost entirely Jack's fault. He will totally acknowledge this. He's bad at relationships, and friendships, and keeping up social contact. Just... bad at social in general.
But he's been working on it, kind of. Once upon a time, he probably would have just shrugged, accepted that the friendship was drifting away and would inevitably ghost, and continued on in oppressive solitude pretending like he wasn't lonely.
Now, he gesticulates in a way that is both emphatic and incomprehensible.
"No- not- not, like, today. I mean in general. You like... left, or moved out, or something. And, before you say anything, yes, I am aware that it's embarrassing that it took me like a month to realize this, yes, I should be ashamed of who I am as a person, but we're both aware that I'm basically walking brain damage so let's ignore that part for a second."
