convinced as dean is that he'll end the way nearly all hunters do - killed in action - castiel's been committed to proving him wrong, delivering him to some level of peace when (if) they make it through the myriad apocalypses. unrealistic, probably, but a worthy goal in his eyes regardless. if brief respite is all he can call a victory for the time being, he'll take it. ]
