[ An unexpected compliment, but she'll certainly take it. Himeka smiles and tucks a lock of hair behind her horn, her tail swishing behind her. ]

Very kind of you to say! I'd hope we could all get along regardless, even if it takes a while.

[ She's generally a "glass half-full" sort of person, even after all that she's been through.

It's not necessarily reassuring that this girl isn't sure how her situation came to be either, but mayhaps it's a journey that she's still on. ]

I've never heard of that before...recalling memories of a past life is one thing, but someone else's entirely? Someone who still exists?

[ It's daunting, really. ]

[Bay's compliment was mostly just looking at the facts, and stating them. She also sees no reason to belabor the point of humanity's lack of time if you deviate from their path ever-so.]

Not another person's life, exactly. It's-

[Bay makes a frustrated pantomime of yelling, it isn't yelling exactly. But the exaggerated hand motion and expression suggest it without the noise. Another- thing, from this other her. Explaining the switch was hard, hard enough she never thought she'd have harder but here she was.]

I'm the me I would have been if I lived a life raised by my parents. The things that are me are still here, but it's like everything else is just slightly wrong. Just different enough to be weird, but not bad. Usually.

[There were definitely things worse about this girl's life compared to her own, but they weren't really about her. She seemed to be fine.]

I was freaked out to wake up in a strange house with no sound. But my room was still mine. The walls were still magenta and a quote by my favorite artist still painted above my bed. After that it's just-

Trying to get to know the girl I didn't get to be.

[ She thinks she understands, at least from an emotional point. It must have been difficult at the best of times. And how do you define yourself from this point on? Are you the you that you once were, or are you the other person? Or now somewhere in between?

That, mayhaps, she has a bit of experience with herself, though not quite to the same degree. Learning of her past life and traveling to the past itself. Where does the line between Himeka end and Azem begin?

It seems like Bay has a decent idea of who she is, though. More so than Himeka may have had their positions be reserved. She's working through it.

Her smile turns to a softer, more contemplative one. ]

I'd say you're more together than most people would be, all things considered. Would you like to talk about it? I have snacks here as well, if you're hungry.

[Bay smiles. It's a nice statement. She's not sure it's true but she also doesn't think most people can quite get what she's feeling. So the props that she isn't having a meltdown is appreciated.]

I definitely need to talk about it, not having my sister around to talk to isn't great.

[It's a good offer, especially since Himeka seemed to understand enough. She does really want to figure herself out.]

I'm not hungry, but I do like tasting new things.
