The thing is, Wilhelm doesn't know who he'd be looking for. He's not avoiding Rhy, but he's careful to only approach him when someone else is around to act as a buffer against the awkwardness. Usually it's Kell, who since the ordeal in the pit has become practically inseparable from his brother. He could probably solve Jesper's identity pretty fast — just look for the tallest, loudest magnetic force of a person at the party — but he figures he'll be busy with Mat. They don't get many opportunities to spend time with those from opposing factions.

So...he's just drifting through a sea of masks. Maybe he should try seeing it through the frame Kyle presents: the mystery makes it exciting. Not knowing who he's dancing with. Spending a night with someone, not knowing if he'll ever see them again, but hoping he might.

That's what he's thinking as the dance ends in clapping and whooping. That it would be nice to find someone out there. But no, he's not in a rush.

"I can try," he says, chuckling behind his hand at Kyle's predicament. "Maybe they have straws?"
