"Ah," Lord John says, making a sound of understanding. That does explain some things. John certainly hadn't expected it himself, though he will compliment himself on his remarkable handle on his composure, all things considered.

Not having learned a drop of magic yet himself, John finds himself somewhat fascinated by the concept of it. Hoping the younger man won't mind too much about the question as he asks, "Did you at least learn it on purpose...?"

Or had the acquisition of this magic been accidental as well? Is such a thing possible? John does not know for certain, but the question bears asking.
