It is my preference of the three because of the magic and also for the information about the history of the continent and the Singularity support. The Singularity is a priority for me.
( So Istredd can tolerate a whole lot of nonsense in order to stay close to the Singularity and be ready to protect it. He's lived in bad situations before to keep his head above water. It's one of those things he's learned to accept and do his best with. He's very good at focusing on his priorities and not on the details.
The more they can learn about the Singularity, the better. Not only to protect the multiverse, potentially, but to find a way to keep people here. The ones who want to be anchored, like him, and his loved ones. The Free Cities are anti-Singularity so he wouldn't be able to handle that for long.)
But we are hoping some day to be able to flee like the original Summoned did. No one wants to stay there forever. It's untenable long-term.
(They are playing it safe. Biding their time. The Summoned before them got to run, and it's unlikely it will be so easy for them, but they also have to be ready.)
