assembles: (now you're just pulling my leg)

[ The voice in his head is what truly puts Steve on high alert, because it's not just anything or anyone that can do that. Someone like Wanda, maybe, but beyond that he's experienced few examples of it here.

If anything, it makes him think back to when he'd been suffering the ritual effects, hardly able to tell between asleep or awake at times. His dreams had been plagued with strange visions, and his waking hours with paranoid thoughts.

He doesn't have any particular interest in listening to this voice, but he also can't shake the urge that something is, in fact, behind him.

When he turns again, in a more measured way this time, he does briefly stumble at the sight of the massive spider, its bulk towering over him. Instead of running or losing his balance from shock, Steve braces himself against one of the maze's walls and stares up at the creature.

It isn't the first time he's seen a monster this huge, after all. ]

This is what you consider fun?

[ Is it the spider he's addressing? The voice? Are they one and the same? He doesn't really know, but he also doesn't look like he's going to back down. ]
