Yes, I've felt enough from it to believe that. Not as much as others, but.
[ Lucifer has said that he shares Istredd with not only Yennefer but the Singularity itself. Istredd does love it, or he feels something akin to love for something untouchable and unknowable. Admiration, possibly obsession at times. When Istredd's in a bad place, like after the Pit, he spent time sitting next to the Singularity, feeling calmer when he did. It still has never made a real connection with him, so all he can do is listen to others.
Is he a little wistful about that? Absolutely. But he has practice in not being chosen.
Istredd is also someone who tends to move when he's talking but this is his library so he can easily pace around. The leosylph happily nudges against his hand and will snuggle with him if given permission. The black and red one is a little more feline in resisting attention until it wants it. The ravens had been interested in Jaskier when he first flew in, but only two of them still eyes him now. None of them are his. ]
I've heard that theory. It is certainly possible. Since many spheres have conduits that can cause travel between them, it would make sense there has to be a source at the center. Geralt told me he thinks it's possible that the spheres without any magic may be the farthest from the Singularity, that it is connected to all of them.
[ He doesn't know if Jaskier and Geralt have had that conversation, but it is the sort of thing Istredd and Geralt discussed right away. He shared drawings and theories right away. They might not always get along, but in this, they were on the same page. Geralt's interest in all of this circles around Ciri, of course, and what it means for her continued safety. That's why he bothered at all, and tapped into Istredd's thoughts for it. ]
There is a theory that the newer gods were the Summoned from thousands of years ago. The High Mage at the time started the Summoning, something went wrong, he was exiled and founded Solvunn. No one knows what happened to those Summoned, only that it went wrong. But they could have gone with him. It would explain why some of the gods can go into the Horizon and change our domains or stick us in other ones.
[ Maybe all of the gods can because they're all permanently connected, but Istredd is very suspicious of the newer gods in particular, if they're connected to that original group. ]
There are people Summoned who have the kind of power that in a few hundred years, could be seen as divine. The Singularity lets us stay here, keeps us close, gives us more supernatural abilities every few months.
