Istredd was patient during Yennefer's struggle because he knew her but he also knew the end result was going to be one way. Yennefer would eventually come to the realization that it was the best way to make sure in her position she had the power she needed to feel safe. He never hesitated to give her what she needed, even when she didn't want it. The trust had to be re-earned between them, but it's there now.

Any attempt they could have made at not being obviously intertwined was lost during the kidnapping, although he thinks the Queen and Ambrose likely knew beforehand. But after Yennefer's reaction to having him back, it stopped being subtle, and Istredd hasn't bothered to go back. They are in lock step, in a way they never got to be as youths. Back when they still thought they were hiding it well.

"The angels are very strong, Castiel probably overpowered him long enough to get the cure for Dean." Which would take the ability to kill him out of Geralt's hands until they were able to fix him. And once that happened, and Ciri was safe, Geralt probably saw it as a way out of killing someone he cared for. Istredd can't hold it against him. He gets it, but it is worrisome, if he knows about Ciri.

He keeps his arm around her and turns to kiss her head sweetly. Their relationship started out with friendship and intimacy, and he missed that aspect more than the sex, in truth. Now that they have it again, he's all too glad to take advantage when she lets him in.

"Maybe Ciri didn't want him to die. She's been spending time with the other hunters. That would have been taken into consideration for Geralt." After his immediate instinct to kill Dean until he was stopped, once he slowed down, Ciri could have made her opinion known. It's hard considering he doesn't know her well, but she seems like that kind of person.

"And then what happened? I know it's what is actually bothering you, Yenna."
