Exactly my thought. The gods didn't show up until the Summoned got their attention, but we certainly have their attention now.
[ Istredd knows they don't have evidence or proof yet about the gods and their connection to the Summoned, but he thinks it hits all the logical boxes. The only proof they can actually get is if one of them says 'yes that is us' and who knows if that's possible, if they can even communicate that directly with them. He's willing to bet on it at this point. ]
It would take strong defenses to lie to me when I'm in a mind, and hers were weakened. But I didn't need to push.
[ Trained by Stregobor himself in the art, that's a high level of telepathic power, but he isn't saying it's impossible. That isn't why he's sure she told the truth though. ]
She was a fanatic and believed strongly in what she did and what she thought, so she was righteous and more than happy to speak her truths to me. I thought it would take more, but she wanted to talk. I think they said she was still shouting her opinions at the execution.
[ Istredd asked the questions and she answered them directly. He had gone into that talk expecting to have to pry or push her mind open, use some of Stregobor's actual tricks, but nothing of the sort happened. She had no defenses and she wanted to tell him. A strange experience, but a fruitful one.
He didn't go to the execution so he only knows what Lucifer told him about it. That she was still yelling at them for being blind to the end was not a surprise after being in her mind. ]
I don't think this is the last we'll hear of natives being angry at us for having the connections we have, to the Singularity or to the gods.
