[ There's more teeth to his grin, if only for a second, at the universal truth of humanity causing death and destruction. It's not like he endorses climate change, but that's not a problem here. At least, not as far as he can tell — and considering the whole medieval aesthetic, Brad's willing to bet it won't be a problem here for a while yet. Which means the death and destruction of this world is likely to be more direct, more cruel. And while he might not be that person, he wants to be. Or at least give the illusion that he's capable of it. Who knows, maybe one day he even will be. ]

We're an ambitious species.

[ He knows his ambition lies in climbing the ranks here, at least; how that's gone about — how many are dead and how much is destroyed when all is said and done — will be a problem for another day. It's a long game. He can wait.

His expression smooths back out, attentive and curious, as talk turns back to the Singularity. Even as he's clearly hit on something here — judging by that brightness in her eyes, the way her words seem to suggest something she wants to be true — he maintains that academic interest, if focused that little extra bit more on Yennefer. He's hit on something she cares about. A potential in, or a potential weapon. Either or. It's not really important right now; what is important is that her logic is sound. ]

That makes sense. [ He angles his head back, taps his chin thoughtfully before re-engaging her. ] The trouble is in finding a powerful enough conductor, then. I doubt any one person or thing would be enough, but that's what teamwork is for, isn't it?

[ A potential explanation as to why they're all here. And Brad's all for teamwork, with the right people — but it's so easy for one cog to just wreck the entire thing, isn't it. Though he doubts Yennefer will ever be that cog. And, at least for now, he doesn't intend to be that disruptive of a force — certainly not when the opportunity to be a part of something this powerful is on the line. ]
