[Earlier in the day, Kell has heard two ladies gossip in the Cauldron how in dead of the night husband of one them has seen a monstrous creature climb the city walls causing no small amount of ruckus. The woman did not believe him, accused him of drinking again, her friend agreed with her and that was it. But there was one detail that drew Kell's attention. The creature crawled out of a cracking rip in the air. That sounded oddly specific, and what's more important, familiar. So instead of going to the library as he originally planned, Kell has set out to investigate.
Creatures were appearing out of the rifts for almost a month now. They were always a subject of gossip and discussion, but most of what Kell has heard up to this point was that yes, some of them looked scary, but most rather harmless. So he's not alarmed, mostly curious.
There's small commotion when he arrives at the sight of the suspected sighting. A wagon with a broken wheel blocks the road and group of men fights with it, to calm down the horses, get the thing moving, or at least out of the way. A small crowd gathered to cheer them up, but nobody from the crowd seems to willing to help. They're just gawking. Nothing horribly out of place.]
