( he's not surprised when the creature that he'd just pulled kell away from turns it's sights to him. he can barely pay attention to everything else going on when there's claws coming right at him.
he manages to turn his body just enough that the claws end up digging into the meaty flehs of his arm. it's going to hurt but it's tolerable and he manages to punch at the creature to at least dislodge him.
