He makes a quiet 'oof' sound and hooks both legs and arms around Istredd. He remains talking out loud, as though maybe it'll keep Istredd from completely drowning.
"Well that's terrible."
Doesn't mean the words are helpful.
What is the actual point of that though?! It's bad enough that people from the same world are scattered throughout a timeline! Then you gotta maybe get a memory dump? WHY?
From what he knows of the Brotherhood he's not really surprised by the betrayal but he is NOT about to say that anytime soon. Like. Not for another few months at least. Probably shouldn't be at all, to be fair. ... Just as he shouldn't bring up that yes, it's not surprising whatever Istredd did, there was no thinking involved. It'll drive Lucifer point through all on its own without Lucifer saying (or thinking) a damn thing.
Lucifer's not the greatest in regards to words of comfort. This is a known fact.
The same method shouldn't be done here. But their minds are already fucked beyond reason, how much worse can they make it? (Okay, likely a lot, but whatever. What's the point of being mentally bonded if you can't literally provide an anchor to every unfettered neuron?)
Mentally he dips in like someone testing the water's temperature and then takes a metaphorical deep breath before cannon-balling in.
Incandescent, his full presence a lightning strike making contact. Spiderwebbing cloud-to-cloud, reaching out like a blanket of connectivity to give Istredd something to more concretely latch to so that his new memories and feelings aren't just lashing out and feeding on the old ones.
He's sure he's going to get one nasty headache himself for this.
I'm Sure This Is a Fine Plan

Istredd's already flooded Lucifer's mind, far-too recently.
