As close as they've gotten this past year, and despite living in the same wing of the castle, it's not too uncommon for their schedules to diverge or a week or two. And given Istredd's obsessive, studious nature, it doesn't immediately strike Kahlil as strange that the mage is absent or quick to leave the dining hall. He assumes that he's onto some new theory that they'll eventually meet to talk about. There's also whatever preparations Istredd must be doing for that meeting he means to hold for all the Summoned. While Kahlil would help if asked, he's not exactly disappointed that he hasn't been approached to assist.
He does not like group meetings. The democratic nature of them muddles things. Kahlil prefers to deal with a single voice, a single leader. But that isn't how things work here amongst this group, and he's had to accept that.
It's by chance that he notices the lighthouse where the old tower used to be - at first he thinks he's stumbled onto a new domain, until he recognizes that no, this is Istredd's metaphorical neck of the woods. Warily, he enters the new structure, only to find himself in Istredd's very familiar library.
"Anyone home?" he calls out. One of the many leosylph trot over to him, curling around his ankle.
