[ She's glad he found the sword. She was ready to buy him a new one, but she was not going to replace that huge hunk of gold and jewels from Jaskier. The Gem can do that part on his own if necessary.

Her thumbs move in slow circles behind his neck as she considers the Conjunction. Did the monsters and humans just come falling through rifts like that? She thought it was that planets got off-course and slammed into each other, but she realizes that she never really sought clarification on that point before. ]


You think that's where we're headed? [ Her voice is more conversational than actually concerned -- there's nothing they can do about it at this exact moment. ] Honestly, it's not the worst end-of-the-world I can think of.

[ Especially if it doesn't actually end the world. His world is still there, still going. Maybe Abraxas won't need to resort to human experimentation to deal with their issues.

When they lapse back into silence, it's easy and comfortable. Eventually, the massage slows, and she finds herself instead focused on the new, unfamiliar scars that now mark his back. Her fingers are gentle, barely ghosting over them, but she doesn't ask about any of them. Draped over him, she rests her forehead against his shoulder with a sigh, softly kissing the smooth skin left where the wound healed. ]
