[ For all that he's confident about his abilities in many aspects of life, he tends to downplay how much he actually does to help the universe. Planet-and-universe-saving is a regular occurrence, but it's simply the fact of his life and not something he needs to tout for praise, that's not why he does it. And his friends are the best of him anyway; he could never do it without them. Well, he could and he has at times, but he prefers not to.
Now, he does grin, though, and quite broadly, because Adora has given him exactly what he wants, what he always strives for, that sense of wonder when someone first steps inside. ]
Seems to be connected, though I'm still working the bits out, how it functions exactly — the Singularity, not the TARDIS.
[ Casually saying TARDIS like she'll know what he means. ]

What exactly does this...does this do? Because it looks like a lot, like some kind of—
[ Lots of buttons, a lot of lights, things she would probably bash on just to get it to work and Bow and Entrapta would LOVE; it all clicks. ]
—like a ship?

[ He wouldn't normally be this casual about her touching the TARDIS panels, but it's all safe here. Which is both a comfort and a sad reminder of what he's missing. ]
TARDIS - Time And Relative Dimension in Space. Travels across the stars and backwards and forwards in time. When we're not here, obviously.

[ Adora whispers that under her breath, and she pushes all the buttons and levers with total glee. But then she looks back at the Doctor with wide eyes. ]
I have a spaceship, her name is DARLA! [ It's like she just remembered, but she was so caught up, she sort of did. ] I just tell her where to go, and she does, she's amazing. She doesn't travel in time though. You got me there.
[ But she doesn't seem put out at all by that, instead she's roaming around the console to look at different things. ]
Where are you from? Is this magic and tech together or just tech?
no subject
I'd love meeting her sometime, when we're through here. You've traveled in space then, have you?
And I'm from — a long way away. You wouldn't have heard of it, Adora. But this is...just tech. Magic wasn't anything I'd ever known before I wound up here.

[ All the time runs together, and for a second she actually tries to remember, then waves it off. ]
Space travel is super new, but my friends and I are gonna explore and see if any other places need me. Need us. [ She corrects herself and looks up at the Doctor with a small smile. ] Magic and tech work together on Etheria, but tech is more accessible.
[ Circling the console, she takes in the differences of their ships, and it's way different. ]
No windows or pilot chair? How do you see where you're going?
no subject
He does laugh a little under his breath at the question, though. ]
I always know where I'm going and I always end up precisely where I mean to. With a detour now and again.
[ Oh, yes, that's definitely completely accurate. ]

I used to live in a ship, but it was grounded. It's where I grew up, but I never thought I'd actually get to leave Etheria in one. The first time was terrifying, things were literally falling apart, and none of us had ever flown a spaceship before, obviously.
[ She's talking quickly, uses her hands a lot, and doesn't seem at all bothered by how much she's saying. Her energy is somewhat similar to the Doctor's; she doesn't get the sense that he's annoyed by her at all. ]

And you managed it all the same, well done! I do that a lot myself — learn as I go.
[ There's definitely pride in his voice as they speak of it. ]

[ When they aren't in motion, Entrapta can also talk with DARLA, and Adora's pretty sure they flirt when she isn't around. As much as a ship can flirt. Stopping to take a breath, she pokes her head down a hallway. ]
Is there more? How long did it take you to learn how to fly the TARDIS?
no subject
[ He commits the names of her friends to memory as well. They're important, obviously, they're family. He knows that feeling all too well himself. ]
There is more, so much more than you can possibly comprehend, but that will take me a bit of time. Suppose I have plenty of it here, so I've heard. As for flying her — oh, that was easy. Hardly any time at all. We took to each other instantly!
[ ...except not. He doesn't really fly but he's convinced himself that he does. ]
