It’s strange, knowing Jesper knows more about him than Wylan realizes or knows about Jesper. A year makes a difference when getting to know someone. The Wylan Jesper knows knows him better, can probably read him better, knows when things aren’t said what he means. This Wylan still really doesn’t know this boy who he’s fallen in love with.

Wylan glances up, a little surprised though there is a pleased look in his eyes. “You talk about me to people?” That might not be what he was supposed to take away from that. He blushes though and looks up at Jesper. “You tell people that? That I did that?”

Jesper is right, it is nice to hear. But he had promised Inej he would be brave and actually talk to Jesper. He can do that.
