Geralt's eyes are undeniably narrowed as he tries to grasp what she's describing. It is, fortunately, not near the first time someone has told him shit that can't be explained even before he came into this world—half the farmhands on the Continent can barely articulate what it is that came into the night to slaughter their flock of sheep and wind up with some incredibly inaccurate tale.
He gathers that it's a story and there are images. And while he's aware her world has no magic, the only thing he can think of is that it must be a story told through...illusions of some sort. Whether or not that's accurate (doubtful), it's close enough for him to understand she means someone else made up this creature and it's now part of a myth in her world.
Not the strangest myth he's heard. Omens of destruction and large beasts are nothing new. Typical of Kay, really, to have turned this thing into a pet.
"Mages conduct recordings through a megascope," he says. For research, mostly. "Never heard of it combined with an illusion, though, for entertainment."
That's actually—hmm. If he were a man concerned with innovation, it might be something to bring back to the Continent.
