arrival

[ Word gets around, even in Amos' own little isolated corner of the world. There's nothing to lose by coming, so — after a false start or two in making it back to the Horizon — he shows up. Not like he's got anything better to do with his time, keeping to himself and generally being a moderately productive total loner out in Solvunn's Tertiary Settlement.

That total loner disposition translates to his arrival, too, as Amos stands awkwardly at the edge of the drive. He looks almost mystified, taking in the size of the yard and all therein. He knows that here people can make up whatever environment they want, but he's still never seen any kind of setup like this.

Isn't entirely sure what to make of it, if he should just go or what, but then Sam's seen him, is approaching him, and okay, guess that means Amos is officially here now.

His hands are empty because none of this is real. Anything anyone eats or drinks here — not real. He can play along with things, just to fit in, but he's never going to actually get it, and isn't exactly bothered about making an effort for someone he doesn't know.

Still, Sam's open, and friendly, and Amos doesn't want to just blow him off, so, ]
Hey. [ A pause, just for a second, before he follows him. ] Okay, I guess. Better than before.

[ Better than prison. He figures Sam was never in jail because, well, this is the first time Amos is ever seeing him. Doesn't know if he'll get what he means; doesn't really care, either. Sam asked, Amos answered.

He is also dreadfully awkward, and out of place, and it probably shows. ]
This, uh. This all your idea?
