Still, he offers her a slight twist of his lips in the shape of a knowing smile, because he definitely isn't one to be fooled by a performance.

Customary critique on the very concept of heroism delivered, he turns his attention back to Julie's core concern, transparent (at least to him) in the wording.
"Playing weak and pitiful to earn sympathy only works on weak people with a pitiful need to put the goodness of their hearts on display... and even then only once. She'll destroy herself. There's no need to put any effort into ensuring it."
