[ The theme of their interactions thus far seem to be along the lines of Hilda feeling grateful for the Doctor’s well-intentions after the fact. Since it isn’t after the fact however she gives him some garbled sounds in response.

It could mean anything. It could be a muffled cry of pain as her elbow smacks hard against the stone adding to the pain in her knee. Or it could be a startled and slightly angry, “What the fuck, why would you be kneeling on the other side of the door? What if someone saw that embarrassing display?” Whatever it is is thankfully cut off as she’s righted to her feet, immediately recognizing the Doctor and his chipper voice.

Really, it’s a quality that she can appreciate. Always chipper even in the face something mortifyingly embarrassing. The same can’t be said about Hilda. At least in this particular moment. She practically splutters as she tries to pull the hair that’s been caught in her mouth. ]

[ Once it’s actually out of her mouth and she begins to register the sore throbbing in her knee and elbow she lets out a whine clutching at - well she settles on the elbow.
