[ When Adora approached her in the Citadel, Ciri hadn't known immediately who she was. But Adora recognizes her, and it wasn't difficult at all for the two of them to get to talking after that. Ciri had promised, after all, to meet with her in the Horizon at some point. With all that's been happening, it turns out that they'd be able to meet in person even before they found time for that. It's nicer, honestly. Ciri vastly prefers the real world to the Horizon.
They wind up looking for ingredients together. Ciri's heard from others by then that the Featherhive's toxicity supposedly doesn't affect them as Summoned, so they head out together. Maybe they were part of a larger group at some point, maybe they decided to split up, but Ciri walks alongside Adora without too much concern, keeping a keen eye on their surroundings and looking for outcroppings of those crystals while she listens to Adora tell her about her own world.
At least Adora can rest assured, by Ciri's reaction, that the voices she hears are not in her head. They freeze, Ciri's hand instinctively falling to her dagger. Shadowy birds surround them, their beaks opening to release words birds shouldn't be able to say. With a twisting discomfort, she listens because there's nothing else to do, realizing what is happening when Adora's voice surrounds them, to the real Adora's obvious horror.
The birds continue, dissipating into smoke only to reappear, even when Ciri half-heartedly brandishes her blade. This, too, is something she's been warned about. But experiencing it is so much more unpleasant.
There's little point continuing. She reaches down to pull Adora to her feet.
