[ With no immediate danger in this area to speak of, Hilda had urged Haelva on a little further, insisting that so long as they stayed within eyesight of one another, they'd be able to cover more ground and collect more crystals that way.
There's another purpose to it however. Hilda had traversed this area at least several times now to know the chaos that the shadow birds could cause. The faster they got out of there, the better. Unfortunately her master plan hadn't quite worked as well as she had hoped. She sees the birds that had been following them since they had entered take flight again straight for Haelva.
Quickly she snatches up the cluster of crystals before darting after them - only to watch Haelva take care of them in quick succession but narrowly misses having her foot slapped with the stave. She lets out a little squeak of surprise, hopping backwards, eyes wide. The other bird squawks from above, almost like a mimicry of her own surprise earlier. ]
Maybe my idea to split up wasn't very good. I'll take the blame on that one. [ A crease of concern wrinkles her brow. ] Are you okay?
