He doesn't begrudge an artist getting creative, but most of this is far too abstract to really discern or understand anything at all about what's actually being shown. And yet, that's what keeps him all the more fascinated, wanting to find something of value at all that makes any sort of sense.

He almost hesitates before showing her, as if debating, but then pushes the book towards her. The images are even more confusing, badly drawn caricatures almost. The Doctor points to one image panel and scrunches up his nose in utter confusion.

"That's their leg, clearly, it must be, it's too large to be anything else. But then it's...well. Look. That makes absolutely no sense at all. I worry for anyone in this position, frankly." What seems to him to be a leg is nearly superimposed on the face of the person's "partner" in the image. It's difficult to tell where one body ends and the other begins, or what sort of pleasure is even being derived from this entanglement.
