[ The question and the eyebrow raise Hilda has get the latter back from him, too, because it didn't seem like that out there of a suggestion in his mind. They were all at the Featherhive together and had seen too much about everything, so it makes sense to talk to Sylvain either alone, or together, or even both. Part of him doesn't expect for Sylvain to address any of it more than what's already been said attempting to wave it away, but before he can say anything she continues.

It's a familiar enough joke he's heard her made in so many varieties before with each tailored to the situation at hand, and this is the part where he's supposed to tease her like usual. That's another routine they've had over the years and one which has happened so many times. The usual responses he gives are on the tip of his tongue, but this time - they don't feel right for a reason he can't quite name as he looks back at her. In the end, Claude can't help the frown that flits over his face before he can keep it away before smoothing it out a second later. ]

Hey, don't do that. [ Said gently, and paired with a nudge of the shoulder she's pressed up against to underscore the words when doing anything else would mean letting go of her hand. ] I doubt he's really going to want to talk to either one of us, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't still try at some point. And it especially doesn't mean pretending like that's anything the Leosylphs can do instead.

[ Despite getting comfortable a few seconds ago Claude shifts again, this time to be able to look at Hilda better than before as he studies her face for a moment with another squeeze to her hand in his. ]

Or that you're not good at it, either. I still remember all the times you cheered me up when things were difficult, and not by accident. [ With a slight twitch of one corner of his mouth there in amusement though this one he manages to keep in check since Hilda might not have even had that ready as a rebuttal. It still can't hurt, he thinks, especially because he means that. ] It meant more than you could've known then, and if I wasn't good enough at showing that then it's another thing I should be apologizing for.
