If it eases your mind any, that is... typically the way it is in Faerûn, save divine intervention. Necromancy, or at least the kind that I devote myself to, does not concern itself with the soul of a person. That's not to say that there are no necromancers who keep the consciousness tied to the corpse, or do whatever they will with the person that remains, but it is a way for me to use all that I have on hand.

( That she just so happens to have corpses easily on hand is a minor detail. Quite minor. So minor, in fact, that Haelva fails to see why it might unnerve or upset others. Or at least leave them with more questions than answers.

The landscape itself seems to swallow them both, and when Hilda asks her question it's enough to get her to pause -- though she casts an eye around them both for their quarry and their unwanted raven friends. Seeing none, she finds herself unable to avoid answering further.
