Don't apologize when I brought it up. You've said so much of what I've felt. I've wondered if there are secrets buried underground, because no, I certainly don't think these people just happen to live here. I would be willing to bet they're the descendants of the first people pulled here at the start of the planet's existence. I don't know what happened next, but get enough people in one place—all from different worlds and backgrounds by the way—, and someone trying to govern them all is a recipe for disaster. There you go with how the factions were established and the tension leading to wars. As time went on, more people were pulled in and others began to have families. Even a hundred years is two or three generations down the line; people begin to forget their history and make up all sorts of myths, gods, and religions to explain their origins.
