Well, you are very right. I rarely kept company with people who were dishonest. [Cadfael does not expect to ruin his good streak here.] Or so I think. One can never know for sure what is in the other's heart no matter who long he knows the other person. I did have my share of encounters with true rascals in my life, but then I never was a man of wealth or influence. So maybe that's just my luck in not being a target worthy of effort.

I do tend to see best in people, and rarely am as harsh in judgements as my less traveled brothers from the coven. That usually helps too.
