[ Steve attended the ceremony along with the Cheer Squadâ„¢, though his job had mainly been to try to contain said cheering to appropriate moments, and make sure no cheer lasted too long, practically sensing the glares from the officials on stage (and Viktor himself). It's kind of a toss-up how well he managed, but he likes to think it would have been much worse if he hadn't been around.
Once the ceremony ends there's too much of a crowd to easily meet up with Viktor in the aftermath, and so they decide it's better to regroup with him back at the workshop for the afterparty. When Steve files in after the rest of the group, apparently having taken up the rear, he finds Viktor standing there to greet everyone and shoots him a crooked smile. ]
Well, you survived. Glad to see it. And congratulations.
[ Even if Viktor doesn't make much of the award or any of the accolades, the fact remains that he's accomplished great things while here. And that should be acknowledged by his friends, if nothing else. ]
