Istredd isn't very fond of the uniform but he understands John is doing his best, the same as everyone else. And it is not a bad idea to have a Summoned involved with the army directly. It just is a reminder about the struggle Nott has been forced into. They all knew Lyle would have to give in and ask for help, there was no surviving this situation otherwise, but it's unfortunate all the same. And the hope they have for independence gets further away. At least the crown is sending the help they promised.

He is with keen eyes looking out at the water which is whipping from the wind as well. He's fairly certain they have all the boats they can get back in now, but it does mean they're still unable to do their usual livelihood. There are broken ships all around the docks as John can see, many of them being patched up at the moment. Not water ready, but they're not going out there any time soon.

"Very peaceful time of year," Istredd quips back, glancing toward John. He's already managed a few rounds of magic to keep the winds from crashing into the docks themselves, but with the crown's help, they'll have official wards ready soon. "It has stopped a few times but keeps coming back."
