It seems like it's going from bad to worse, with the storm. Steve had predicted as much when he'd talked about all of this with Geralt, but that doesn't mean that he likes to be proven right. With the flooding, even here in the Cities, many places have found themselves ill-prepared for the influx of water. He's been doing his best to help out wherever he can in Cadens, setting up sandbags to soak up the water and doing whatever else he can to keep the water damage minimal.

And every night, he returns to an inn that's packed with people who have nowhere else to go. Steve's relieved that Mag has opened up her doors like this, not that he would expect anything different, but it does mean that it's difficult to grab a seat in the main tavern area.

So when someone approaches him asking if they can take the open seat across from him, Steve is quick to straighten up and nod in affirmation and greeting alike.

"Pretty sure we all could, yeah." It says a lot that Steve doesn't even turn down the offered drink, though it will be wasted on him. He takes a sip, looking over the face of the stranger. That accent, though — it sounds like he's from the UK. Those native to the Cities certainly don't have that accent, and so Steve can make an easy assumption. "Are you one of the new Summoned?"
