He won't do it where anyone else can see. That seems unfair to the kid. He knows he'd have hated something similar in front of his own peers, growing up. Is he always fine? Debatable. But someone with the weight of human belief on their shoulders has to at least act like it.

"Hey, no one's always fine."

They can admit that. They're in the same league these days.

But there's better things to focus on right now. Like pulling the trigger on the rifle made of smoke. In rapid succession. The answer is, of course, yes. It will always be a "yes".
