Mat laughs, throwing back his head in amusement and simple good feelings. At the moment, all is well. All things are right in his world. What does he have to be down about? He's in one of his favorite places, among his favorite people, at a time of celebration.

"Then who am I to deny you both? It would just be cruel, and I am not a cruel creature."

And Kaz has a point. Their common bond is the man they love, and that is the foundation for their own relationship. But over the years he's warmed greatly to the other man. It helped that there was never any jealousy between them. He's vaguely aware he used to feel differently, had some distaste for Jesper's other husband, but he can't for the life of him remember why or in what context.

So it hardly matters now.

"Though this may all backfire, you realize," he says with his chin on Jesper's shoulder. "We might just find we'd rather keep each other's company for the evening and leave you to your devotees."
