Perhaps it's a good sign that even in the midst of his quiet, fearful confession, Koby has it in him to glance over and smile at Garrus's fluttering feathers. He wiggles his fingers, sending the little silvery stardust fishes up to swim around the slowly-color-changing feathers.
"Yeah. It feels better just to say it out loud. Like there's a solution, now." Like it's all going to be okay. That's been Garrus's effect for years, though -- making the impossibly insurmountable seem like something Koby can tackle. "I'll do some research. You know how I like that."
That's also true, even if Koby can't remember why he likes the act of gathering knowledge so much. It's a part of him still, down to his bones.
