John doesn't particularly mind the teasing affection, he knows it's all in good fun. He's never been very protective of his personal space or having people coming in and out of it. So in response to Jesper's conjured tie and cheek petting, he chuckles softly himself.

A belle of the ball. Well, he knows that he's handsome, and on the prettier side of handsome at that. With the long hair... It's exactly why he does joke about worrying about his modesty. But he's not particularly worried about his masculinity either. When you've been around for as long as they have, there comes a point where it just doesn't matter anymore.

At the question he pauses to consider, before shaking his head slightly.

"I'm afraid I've not been very exciting," he replies. "Things have been much the same as usual for me lately. Blessings, visiting friends, traveling the countryside. I'm sure it's all rather dull, comparatively." He waves a hand at the festivities before them.
