[ Jesper has always loved life. Every part of it. It would be easy to get jaded after so many years here, but it's never happened for him. Any time he feels like he's begun to get colder, he forces himself out like this, or to bond with his friends, so he remembers what warmth and joy feels like in his veins. The gods are at greater risk for going wrong, they've seen it in their loved ones. No one asked for this and some resent it more than others, and he gets that. It's just that his life philosophy is so set.]

But the help here and there is valued and it means something to them, knowing they have people in their corner they can turn to. I know you don't like being worshipped, but it's easier if you see it more as a partnership. They give, we give. They get, we get.

[ Of course the God of Love (Cherished) sees everything that way, but it's true nevertheless. The gods and their followers are connected, their prayers answered, their worship given from the heart. They feed on one another, and Jesper sees it as only natural. The biggest struggle for him is learning moderation, because otherwise he gives every prayer a yes and overdoes it. But they've all had centuries to learn the balance.

The music in the air is somehow blended, between the sweet sounds of a violin with the more energetic beat of drums from streets down, and it's all the best things about this place at one time. A city built around making things better for the community. ]

Faith is a comfort. I didn't get that before. A long time ago, I had a friend who was faithful like them, and I wasn't always understanding about her reasons. But it kept her strong when she needed it.

[ Jesper doesn't remember her name, actually. He remembers a lithe girl with a beautiful smile, who he loved with all his heart, but it's been so long since the Crows. But she still has a place in his soul, if not his memory. ]
