[ They've had centuries to try and figure out how to touch other worlds and haven't managed. Istredd's studied everything he possibly could and spent infinite time with the Singularity wondering if it could be the key to gates like the monoliths were. It didn't lead there. It seems likely that there still is an answer somewhere on this sphere, something that can be used as a teleportation to cross worlds, since it brought them there in the first place. ]
