[ She needs to think before answering because it has been a while. She may be missing memories, but she does remember feelings. The things that drove her are still in her gut, somewhere. She remembers suffering turned into hope, a chance for choices to matter. ]

I think I believed that if I could heal the world and make it better, I could do the same for myself.

[ Just saying that is almost a lightbulb over her head. If she can't make this world better, then she can't be better as an individual. Wicka's tied herself and her own self-worth to the planet's growth and health. If humans aren't being their best, it's a reflection on her mistakes. She shouldn't be tying them so closely together. How can she heal if she takes on the world's pain as her own? And how can she heal them if she's still broken?

She looks over at the Trader, tears in her eyes, and smiles. ]


Yes, I think it does. When I don't believe in myself. I guess I still have a long way to go, before I'm like you.

[ But she could be. She's only eight hundred. Compared to one thousands and thousands of years older, she must seem like a child. ]
