"Some might say being so wise is one of my many charms."
A playful rejoinder, though - one that's mostly true these days. Once upon a time it certainly wasn't anywhere close to any sort of charm or charming when Sidus had wielded it like far more of a weapon against anyone or anything who happened to get the brunt of one of his less than stellar moods for many years. Shades of that might still appear these days, but for the most part it's contentment which keeps him from causing (too much) trouble.
But rather than offer any more thoughts immediately, he listens as she explains. All of it makes sense; it even brushes up against something buried somewhere in his mind, something long forgotten about fears of going through setting one's self up for that fear of being hurt from another life or too long ago. Sidus dismisses that and considers something from this life, the only one he remembers.
"I think, for what it's worth from someone who's also been through the hurt and made it out on the other side of it, that even if I went back to the start and knew what was coming, I would do it all again even if I didn't know it would end well as it has." Because it had even despite the deep rift he'd left as a bleeding wound between him and Sylvain for so long to where it'd affected Valentine, too, until she'd had enough and forced them to fix it. "The years we lost because of it... they'll never stop being an ache for what can't be undone from all that time. There's no guarantee the three of us won't go through it again, but - to me, anyway - the good still far outweighs everything else. Some things are worth risking yourself for."
