the how comes easier after that. the panic and hysteria from earlier has faded, the whirlwind of emotion that stormed inside of her settling long enough for her to take a deep breath and exhale slowly ( the way istredd and yennefer had always taught her ). all of that bottled up chaos releases like a sigh, emptying her lungs of stale air, and one after the other, every single human in the village falls asleep in place.
serenity watches their bodies drop to the ground unceremoniously with a blank gaze. it isn't flashy like his colorful display of magic, and she certainly needs that fine-tuning. but when they wake, all they will remember is seeing the mad maiden walking past before losing a chunk of time to the darkness.
( one or two of them may get flashes of umbvagher's carnival and the haunting music of serenity's sorrow. but with no proof or way to corroborate it, they'll be dismissed as the inane ramblings of one touched by the mad maiden's insanity. ) ]
