Aloy is patient, waiting for Claire to find the right words to describe what might be happening. It still doesn't make much sense to her, but it seems to be upsetting, so she doesn't want to discount it.

The question is less affecting for her than it seems to be for Claire, though it does give Aloy some pause.

"I know that I wasn't always here."

But the details of it have become blurry with time. She supposes it doesn't really matter, but Claire might be hinting at something deeper--something that might mean none of this is real at all.
