"That is true. I do know how we've all physically changed." It's been hundreds of years. Julia remembers that she didn't always have red hair and eyes, that she didn't used to have fox ears. That she used to look like an ordinary person, despite not being one. She also doesn't think she just woke up one day and decided to change, that it happened naturally. "But you don't seem different."

Maybe that's because she's used to him and they're family. His question confuses her for a moment as she tries to think back. She knows what he's talking about. The underworld? And Julia does remember being there, that it was bureaucratic, that they don't have the same father. It wasn't a bad or scary place, it was just another land.

"Yes," she says after considering it. "We don't belong here, Zag. We've lived here a long time, but I know in my heart, we don't." Except there is no escape. No path backwards.
