Uh, the haikus are amazing. I’d swipe them for myself if I thought I could get away with it.

[ He raises his eyebrows, all wide-eyed like he can’t believe she’d feel any differently. And he hasn’t even met Apollo! All the haikus he’s heard have been through Will relaying them secondhand. And sure, technically, maybe they are a little lame, but they’re funny and unexpected and Eddie has a certain level of respect for a guy who isn’t afraid to wax poetically about toilets in seventeen syllables. ]

Sounds like someone is just jealous of an immense amount of talent.

[ He jokes, but he can tell Annabeth is going to be the perfect D&D player. Driven, interested, and she’s got the whole actual-experience-killing-monsters thing under her belt. Real life experience is far from required, but he’s found that it definitely adds a certain spark.

Monsters just keep coming back, though—that doesn’t afford him a whole lot of optimism. She’s talking about her world, sure, but there’s a ton of shit here that wants to kill them too, after all, and then there’s everything he left back home.

[ He snorts and turns on his heel to poke his nose into something else within the cabin—without permission, of course. ]

I kind of doubt I’m ever going back there, but—family and friends, you know? Pretty sure the monsters and shit didn’t just disappear because I did. I just wish I knew if they were okay.
