"Equally, if we do end up struggling to find leads I have been wondering at the merits of trying some careful cancellation or draining. Sap the strength from the ward rather than challenging it. My concern has been that the offensive spells thrown at it are having their energy slowly dissipated out into the castle walls, which would explain the tremors when the barrier is hit. If instead we try to remove power from it, then so long as it doesn't lash out that may be the safest approach to the situation."
