What exactly brought him to the conclusion that Annabeth and Percy would have the most knowledge about how to care for a kitten outside of a library book or anyone else he knows in Thorne isn't entirely clear.
Maybe a part of him thinks that Percy being able to speak to horses will somehow transfer to cats. Or maybe he thinks that the fondness both of them have towards Antoni will also apply to cats. Whatever the reason, they're the first two that come to mind.
He doesn't give much notice except for a curt message to ask if they're around and if so, can he drop by. The dream has long since been written off as such, but he can still remember the horrors of bringing their children back only to hear noises behind the door and having to usher them back the way they'd come.
